Hi.

My name is Krista Schutten and I am the designer, maker and owner of Can and So. I live with my sweet husband and boys on the beautiful island of Texel.

Naturally.

2 years ago I started making candles in our small kitchen and not long after the passion for soap making came. Months of trial and error, formulation, failure and getting back up followed. It had to work. I had to make that one nice soap. And yes. Here I am now. With a whole collection of fine soaps, shampoo bars and wonderfully smelling candles, I can say that I have turned my hobby into my job. And what kind of work. With a lot of love I can make that fine soap or shampoo bar for you every day. I use the most beautiful natural ingredients for this and everything is free of parabens and sulphates. Almost all bottles of shampoo and soap that you can buy in the store consist of 80% (!) alcohol and water. Ingredients that are of absolutely no use to your skin. You won't find either in Can and So products.

Everything I make is checked by a designated laboratory after I have devised and formulated it. Only after approval will it appear in the webshop.

Plastic-free

When I heard that in the Netherlands alone we throw away 26 billion packages per year, I knew I wanted to do something with it. I certainly won't change the world, but I would like to contribute. There is no plastic in the products and I package everything as plastic-free as possible. In addition, all stickers, cards and business cards are made from agricultural waste and the wicks in the candles are made of organic cotton. The rope of the soap on a rope is made from recycled PET bottles.
